TILOS Seminar with Atul Prakash (Michigan)

Atul Prakash, University of Michigan
Abstract: TBA
Atul Prakash is a Professor and Chair of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and joined the Michigan faculty in 1989. His research focuses on the efficiency, robustness, and security of machine learning and computer systems, including large language models. His group showed that a few stickers on a stop sign can fool state-of-the-art image classifiers. That work helped inspire DARPA’s GARD program, and the sign was exhibited at the London Science Museum. His honors include a Distinguished Practical Paper Award from the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy. At Michigan, he also led the creation of the undergraduate Data Science program.
